Watercolour Portrait

Watercolour is a paint known to many, because almost all of us drew with it in childhood. At the same time, watercolour is very popular with many professional artists. Its widespread distribution in Europe began in the 12th-13th centuries, even before oil paints. Watercolour, among other materials, was used by such great artists as Dürer, Delacroix, Daumier, Cezanne, and others.

Watercolour is a transparent paint that is applied in a thin layer, which is why watercolour paintings have a unique lightness and tenderness. As a result, it looks very different from almost any other materials. Watercolour portraits are made on special watercolour paper.

A watercolour portrait can be hung where the sun’s rays will not fall on it, otherwise the paper will quickly turn yellow, and the colors will lose their saturation.
